- A temporary email address, aka "alias", lets you send emails from Yahoo without disclosing your actual email address, and can be deleted whenever you like: replies to these will go to your "regular" Yahoo email account (no need to login and logout to check different accounts).
- From your inbox, click on "Options" (near top left) and select "Mail Options".
- Select "Disposable Addresses" on the left.
- Type a "base name" (or keyword) in the text box and click "Continue".
- Yahoo will try to use "
keyword@yahoo.com" - if unavailable, it will suggest related matches. Select a match from the choices (or type a new keyword to start over), and click "Continue". - Yahoo will show your new base name once it is created: to use it, click "+ Add", type a keyword of your choice in the text field, choose how and where responses to these messages should be delivered, and pick a "Sending Name" (the "display name" that will appear to recipients).
- Close the Options tab (or select another option group on the left) to save it.
- The next time you send an email from Yahoo Mail, click on the "From" dropdown and pick your disposable address when needed (refresh or logout and log back in if you don't see it).
Tip: to delete a disposable address, go to "Options > Mail Options", select "Disposable Addresses" on the left, select the one you want removed, and click on the trash icon button.
