Change Windows 7 theme

Right-click on an empty area of the desktop, and choose "Personalize".
Windows 7 will open the Control Panel, with installed themes displayed in a scroll box, automatically scrolled to the current theme, which is highlighted.
If it reads "Unsaved Theme", any customization will be lost when you pick another theme. Optionally right-click on it and choose "Save Theme" - saved themes are always at the top.
Scroll up or down to preview other groups of themes:
• "My Themes" shows custom themes you've saved.

• "Aero Themes" ship with Windows 7 and use high quality graphics, transitions, and effects.

• "Installed Themes" are those you downloaded / imported and installed on your PC.*

• "Basic and High Contrast Themes" are ideal for accessibility and low-powered PC's, like "Windows Classic". "Windows 7 Basic" mimics Aero, but goes easier on your graphic card.*
Tip: to download and install new, official and free themes from Microsoft, click on the "Get more themes online" link at the bottom of the "My Themes" section (or click here).
To try another theme, click on its icon and the change is applied immediately; to switch back, click on the one originally highlighted. Changing theme may also change your sound scheme.
Tip: to restore your sounds, click on the "Sounds" button at the bottom of that same screen; pick a choice from the "Sound Scheme" dropdown in the dialog that opened; click "OK".
Close the Control Panel window (no OK / Apply / Save button to click).
