- Go to this page in Internet Explorer 9 / IE8 (what version of IE do I have?).
Note: the beauty of the approach in this tutorial is that without changing Windows' default email program, you can use AOL Mail as default sender when right-clicking on web pages.
- Under "Email", click on "Send Mail with AOL".
- A confirmation dialog opens to install this "Accelerator". You can have several add-ons to email web page links: check the "Make this my default provider for this Accelerator Category" checkbox to set AOL Mail the default send-to command (other link senders remain available under the "All Accelerators" submenu) Click "Add".
- From now on, when you right-click on a web page or an image, you will see "Send Mail with AOL" in the context menu (find it under "All Accelerators" if you didn't make it the default).
- A new browser tab opens with an AOL message, using website title as subject line and a link to it in the body. Add recipients, optionally add comments, and click "Send" or hit Ctrl+Enter.
Tip: to change the default email sender after the fact, click on the "gear" icon (near top right), and choose "Manage add-ons". Select "Accelerators" on the left, and right-click on an email provider at the top; choose "Remove as default" or "Set as default":
