- Since Google Chrome doesn't currently let you customize the email program for
mailto:links in their "Email this page" extension, you have to install another add-on for AOL Mail. - On this page, click "Add to Chrome" to download Email Links to AOL, and confirm "Install":
- Once Chrome confirms successful installation, click on this email link: it will automatically open a new browser tab with a blank AOL Mail message, using the link's address as recipient; if a subject line is included in the link (as we did), AOL uses it as title.
- With AOL Mail now Chrome's "default mailto handler", you should have gotten this email:
Tip: you can easily add a "send email" button to Chrome's bookmark bar. Go to your AOL Mail inbox, and compose a new message: drag the icon in the address bar and drop it on the bookmark bar. Clicking the button you just added will open a new AOL message!
- Another nice add-on is the official "AOL Mail" extension, which lets you check for new emails opening you inbox, and gives you in real time the number of unread messages you have.
