Yahoo gives you by default a symbol as profile picture: you can create an avatar, upload a photo of yourself, or use your Facebook account's - the main steps are identical.- For a custom cartoon face, make your own avatar here: pick skin tone, hairstyle, hair/eye color, clothing, etc. Make your profile more personable and preserve your anonymity! Here's a mini-tutorial on creating your avatar: hit Clear to start over at any time, or "Save Changes".
Note: the Flash-based avatar creator won't work on iOS devices (iPhone / iPod touch / iPad).
- To add or change profile picture: from Yahoo Mail, click on your name (top left) and select "Profile". In Yahoo's main site, click on your name (below search box) and pick Profile:
- Login if needed: you should now be looking at the "Yahoo profile" page.
- To use your Facebook profile photo as avatar, you'll need to connect your accounts: if it says "My Facebook account is not connected", click on the Facebook logo under Linked Accounts.
A popup will open, optionally ask for your credentials, and automatically close: the first linked account will now read "Connected as [your display name on Facebook]". - Move your mouse above the current icon (center top), and click on it when it says "change picture". Click on the "up arrow" button to upload an image from your computer. Otherwise, click on your Facebook photo or another. The change is automatically saved when you click!
- To remove your profile photo at any point (or temporarily hide without deleting it), follow the same steps, but now click the "No Photo" button on the right (visible on above screenshot).
