- From your AOL Mail inbox, click on "Options" (top right), and select "Themes".
- There are currently 40 themes to choose from: your current one shows a "Selected" label and a checkmark. Move your mouse above any of them to see their name (if someone recommended a theme in particular). The "Default Theme" is shown first (top left corner).
Tip: the accessibility-optimized theme is listed second, and called "High Contrast".
- To change your theme, click on its preview image: the custom background image and color scheme are applied right away, and you can preview them behind the popup.
- Click "Cancel" to keep your current theme, or "Save" to use the new one.
Tip: if you check the "Use Random Theme" (lower left corner) before clicking Save, AOL Mail will automatically pick a theme for you (and will rotate to a new, random theme every day!)
- To be the first to know about newly released themes, click on "Options" and select "Settings".
- With "General" selected on the left, scroll down until you see "Theme Suggestions".
- Make sure that the "Show me suggested themes" checkbox is checked. (If not, check it and click "Save Settings" at the bottom). You'll receive an email when seasonal themes come out. (Note: the "View Theme Gallery" link opens the same popup as "Options > Themes".)
If you checked the "Random" setting, AOL will often automatically apply the seasonal themes!
