- From your inbox, click on "options" (top right corner), and select "Settings" from the dropdown.
- Select "Accounts" on the left, and click "Change your password" on the right.
- Enter your current password for confirmation in the new window and click "Sign In".
- If asked to do so, answer the security question on the right and click "Continue".
- Under "Username Options" (on the right), click "Change Password".
- Enter your new, case-sensitive password - at least 6 characters long, and no longer than 16.
Tip: longer passwords are harder to guess by hackers; make sure to include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, symbols, and numbers for even greater security.
- Confirm it by re-typing it in the next text field, and click on the "Save" button.
- AOL will give you a confirmation message - your new password takes effect immediately.
Tip: also update your password in email programs you use to check your AOL messages!
